Poptarts
makes 5 poptarts | difficulty level: easy
Ingredients:
- Pie Dough (you can use homemade or store-bought dough)
- 1 Egg, beaten
- Filling (I used lemon curd for this recipe)
- 1/2 Cup powdered Sugar
- 1 Tbsp water or lemon juice (I used 1 1/2 tsp lavender simple syrup ) and 1 1/2 tsp water
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prep a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out pie dough into a thin rectangle shape. Then, cut dough into perfectly equal rectangles (I cut mine a little smaller than 3"x5")
- Brush the perimeter of the "bottom" dough pieces with egg. Then add 1 - 1 1/2 tbsp filling in the center.
- Add the "top" dough pieces and using a fork, press down around the perimeter of the rectangle to seal the two pieces of dough together.
- Prick the tops of the poptarts with a toothpick and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
