Bacon Wrapped Dates
16 dates
2 oz. goat cheese
8 pieces of thinly sliced bacon, cut in half
Spicy Maple Syrup for serving
Preheat oven to 375°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pit the dates carefully by cutting down the center and pulling the pit out.
Stuff a spoonful of goat cheese into each date and seal back up by pressing the date closed.
Wrap the cut bacon around each date and press a toothpick all the way through to prevent the bacon from unraveling during baking.
Place the dates on the baking sheet and bake for 8 minutes. Turn the dates onto their sides and bake for 4 minutes before turning to the other side and baking for another 4 minutes. Remove the toothpicks and turn one more time. Bake for another 4 minutes or until bacon has reached a desired crispiness.
Remove from baking sheet onto a paper towel lined plate and let cool for at least 5 minutes before serving.
