The BEST Chocolate Chip Cookies
One bowl Chocolate Chip Cookies you’ll be making again and again.
Makes about 14 cookies
1 stick butter, very soft
3/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup + 2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
pinch salt
1 cup chocolate chips or chunks
Preheat oven to 350ºF and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium mixing bowl, cream butter and both sugars using an electric mixer. Add vanilla and egg and cream again until smooth.
Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir gently until incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips.
Roll dough into balls about the size of a golf ball. They may seem larger than normal.
Evenly space the dough balls on the baking sheet and bake for about 13 minutes, or until cookies have spread out, puffed up, and are golden brown on the edges.
Remove from oven and allow cookies to cool for at least 5 minutes. Serve warm or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
